The licence in practice

The Orvio Member Licence in plain words: what you may do, what you may not, and what happens when you stop being a member.

Updated 15 October 2026

Every product ships with the Orvio Member Licence, version 1.0 (LicenseRef-Orvio-Member). The full text is on the License page and in each release's licenses/ folder. This page is a plain summary; the licence is what counts.

What you may do#

  • Use, copy and modify a product while your membership is active, for as many projects as you like.
  • Build projects for yourself or for clients, and host them anywhere.
  • Give a client the project, including its source, so they can run and maintain it. The client may use the product's code and assets inside that project only.
  • Let your AI tools read the product and use it to build your projects.
  • Keep copies for backup and development.
  • Skip crediting Orvio.

What you may not do#

  • Resell, sublicense, share or redistribute a product as a theme, template, starter or kit, free or paid.
  • Publish a project's source when it contains the product's code or assets, for example in a public repository. Putting the finished project online is fine.
  • Use a product to train or tune an AI model, or put it in public or shared datasets, indexes or prompts.
  • Use scripts or bots to extract the catalog in bulk. Normal use of the CLI and MCP server is allowed.
  • Remove copyright, licence or third-party notices.

Starting a project, and keeping it#

A project starts the day you first copy a product's files into it (or your AI tool does). It does not have to be live. A project you started stays licensed for good, even if you stop being a member. You and your client may keep using, hosting, changing and moving it.

Starting another project from the same files needs an active membership on the day you start it.

When your membership ends#

The rule is: keep what you built, start nothing new.

  • Projects already started stay licensed.
  • You can no longer pull, download or fetch products, and you get no updates.
  • Copies that are not part of a started project may no longer be used.

Before you go live#

A product's example content is fictional: people, quotes, figures, prices. Replace fictional people, testimonials and figures that are shown as real, invented client logos, and the product's own name and logo. Decorative images may stay if they are not shown as real people or clients.

Third-party material#

Fonts, icons and other items may come from other authors and keep their own licences. They are listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md in the release, with any credit they require.

Teams#

A Team membership covers five people. Projects a teammate started stay licensed after they are removed.
