FAQ
Short answers about membership, versions, the licence, offline use and teams.
Membership#
Do I need a membership to look around?
No. Browsing the catalog and opening live previews is free. Reading or downloading source needs a membership.
Does one membership cover every product?
Yes. An active membership reaches the whole catalog.
What happens if my payment fails?
Access continues for a while. Your tool or the CLI shows a heads-up with the date, and where to update your payment method. Billing is handled by Lemon Squeezy.
What if I cancel?
You keep what you built and start nothing new. Projects you started stay licensed. See The licence in practice.
Versions#
Can I get an older version of a product?
No. Orvio serves each product's latest release only. See Versions and updates.
How do I know when there is a new release?
Check the product's page, or run orvio info <product>. Orvio does not change files in your project.
The licence#
Can I use a product for a client?
Yes. You may build projects for clients, and give the client the project and its source so they can run and maintain it.
Can I put the code in a public repository?
No. Putting the finished project online is fine, but publishing source that contains a product's code or assets is not allowed. Use a private repository.
Can my AI tool use a product?
Yes, to build your projects. Training or tuning a model on a product is not allowed, nor is putting it into public or shared indexes.
Do I have to credit Orvio?
No. Third-party items such as fonts may have their own credit requirements, listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md.
Using it#
Which AI tools work?
Claude is tested. Other tools that support remote MCP servers with browser sign-in may work; we do not promise it. See Connect another AI tool.
Can I work offline?
After orvio pull, the files are on your computer and you can work offline. Pulling, and every MCP request, needs a connection and an active membership.
Is the CLI free?
The CLI is free and open under the MIT licence. Using it to pull products needs a membership.
Can I use it in CI?
There is no service token: sign-in is done by a person in a browser. See Scripts and CI.
Which frameworks are supported?
Products are static HTML, CSS and JavaScript, or React. Your agent converts a product to your framework. See Port to your framework.
Teams#
How does a Team membership work?
It covers five people: the owner and four teammates. Everyone has the same access. Only the owner adds or removes teammates and manages billing.
What happens when a teammate is removed?
Their access stops at once. Projects they started stay licensed.
Privacy#
Does Orvio see my project?
No. Orvio shows only what its server records. It cannot see whether your tool is connected or what it changed in your project. See the privacy notice.
