Approvals and revoking
What you approve when you connect a tool, and how to take it back.
You approve each tool once, in your browser. You can remove it at any time.
What you approve#
When a tool connects, Orvio opens an approval page that names the tool. It says what the tool can and cannot do.
- It can list and read catalog information, and retrieve source for the products and releases your membership covers.
- It cannot change your account or billing.
Approval does not need a key or a password in the tool. Your sign-in stays in your browser.
Each tool has its own approval#
Connecting a second tool, or a second device with the CLI, creates a second authorization. Revoking one does not affect the others.
See and revoke your connections#
Open Account → Integrations
Sign in to Orvio and open Account, then Integrations.
Find the tool or device
Each connection shows the tool's name and the date you approved it. A device connected with the CLI is named
Orvio CLI onfollowed by the computer's name.Revoke it
Choose to revoke. The connection ends at once.
What the tool sees after revoking#
The next request fails with authorization_revoked. The message is: "This connection was revoked. Sign in again to create a new one." To connect again, start from your tool. It opens the approval page again.
Other ways a connection stops#
| What happened | Code |
|---|---|
| The sign-in expired | session_expired |
| Your membership ended | membership_ended |
| An admin suspended the account | account_suspended |
| The team owner removed your seat | seat_ended |
The wording of each is in Errors and fixes.
orvio logout removes the device's authorization, the same as revoking it in Account.
