Exit codes
The three exit codes of the CLI and every message it can print.
The CLI exits with a code that tells a script what kind of problem happened.
| Exit code | Meaning |
|---|---|
0 | Success. |
1 | An access or usage problem: not signed in, no membership, an unknown command, a product that is not there. |
2 | A network or service problem. Nothing is wrong with your access: try again later. |
Every code and its message#
The words are the CLI's own. A clause whose value is not known is left out of the message.

authorization_revoked | 1 | This connection was revoked. Sign in again to create a new one: orvio login. |
session_expired | 1 | Your Orvio session expired. Sign in again with orvio login; nothing else changes. |
no_membership | 1 | Your account doesn't have a membership, so source can't be retrieved. Browsing and previews stay open at https://orvio.design. Join at https://orvio.design/membership. |
membership_ended | 1 | Your membership ended on 2026-10-13. Projects you started stay licensed; new pulls, updates and new projects need a membership: https://orvio.design/membership. |
membership_confirming | 1 | We're still confirming your membership with Lemon Squeezy. Try again in a minute; there's no need to pay again. |
seat_ended | 1 | Your team seat ended on 2026-10-13, so Orvio access has stopped for this email. Projects you started stay licensed. See https://orvio.design/membership. |
free_ended | 1 | Your free membership has ended. Projects you started stay licensed; new pulls need a membership: https://orvio.design/membership. |
account_suspended | 1 | This account is suspended, so Orvio access is paused. If you think this is a mistake, email support@orvio.design. |
release_withdrawn | 1 | Sotto isn't available right now. Projects already started with it stay licensed. |
release_replaced | 1 | Sotto 0.1.2 was replaced by 0.1.3. Orvio offers the latest release only: orvio pull sotto. |
product_unavailable | 1 | There's no available product called "sotoo". Search the catalog with orvio search sotoo. |
path_not_found | 1 | Sotto 0.1.3 has no "css/missing.css". Run orvio info sotto to see what's included. |
rate_limited | 2 | Too many requests in a short time. Try again in 30 seconds. |
service_unavailable | 2 | Orvio isn't responding right now. Nothing was changed; try again in a few minutes. |
network_error | 2 | Can't reach Orvio. Check your connection and try again. |
cli_outdated | 1 | This version of the CLI is too old. Update it with npm install -g orvio@latest, then run the command again. |
Problems on your computer#
A problem on your computer, such as a folder the CLI cannot write to, prints its own sentence and exits with 1. A download or archive that fails its checks writes nothing and exits with 2.
Heads-ups#
A heads-up never changes the exit code. It is printed after the result.
